A few months ago we bought some real estate in Gran Canaria. Prior to that moment we searched the market for some time to find the right place to enjoy this beautiful island. During that time we not only visited different houses but also had contact with various real estate agents and lawyers to represent us in a potential transaction. One of the Canarian real estate agents we talked to recommended to us the services of KD LEGAL Servicios Juridicos and specifically Ms. Katarzyna Kosciuczyk-Biscayart - a really good lawyer with Polish roots, in his own words. While we were not looking specifically for someone speaking our mother language we decided to give it a go. As we were approaching the moment of purchase we scheduled a pre-meeting with Katarzyna to familiarize ourselves with the whole process of buying, ownership and contracts transfer as well as several administration issues. During that meeting Ms. Kosciuczyk-Biscayart impressed us with her level of expertise, broad scope of represantation services provided and her overall profesionalism. She was also very transparent about the fees charges, which often is not clearly communicated by other lawyers we have talked to before. Buying real estate in a foregin country can be a stressful and somewhat unpredictable. Katarzyna is amazing! We're very grateful for all her guidance and support. We were in Gran Canaria for a very short visit (4 days). Thus, we only planned on inquiring about the process. We never imagined that we would actually be able to purchase a property from abroad. While in Gran Canaria, we reached out to Katarzyna and she granted us an appointment even though there was very short notice. Katarzyna explained in detail the entire process and we left that meeting feeling immense confidence by her wealth of knowledge and expertise. Katarzyna managed to arrange a meeting at the Notary the very next day to do a power of attorney and from that point on, Katarzyna took care of everything else.

During escrow, the time change from the US to Gran Canaria meant a very small window each day for us to reach Katarzyna during business hours. Katarzyna was very responsive and understanding of our time constraints. Anytime I had a question she promptly responded. She went above and beyond to ensure all the tasks and paperwork were taken care of in a timely manner. To give an example, I was having trouble signing into the platform for online banking. I let Katarzyna know I had been calling the bank because I needed them to reset my key and I had tried calling the bank branch multiple times and had not been successful in reaching a human. Katarzyna immediately went personally into the bank and in a matter of minutes the issue was resolved.

Katarzyna was completely transparent from the very beginning and every step happened faster than the time frame she had given us. She took care of everything just as she had explained she would. She opened our bank account, got our NIE, transferred water/electricity/la comunidad to our name, and registered our new property. Katarzyna is very organized and trustworthy. We are very fortunate she guided us every step of the way and made the process smooth and painless.
